Junior Production Planner & Data Administrator

Elcometer uses an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Epicor, as the repository for design and manufacturing data. The system controls all aspects of the business. The two main purposes of the role are:

  • To ensure that design and manufacturing information is correctly entered and maintained in the ERP system.
  • To release jobs to the factory for manufacture to meet customer demands and agreed service levels.

Manchester, UK

Full Time, Permanent

Higher level qualification in a STEM subject.

Closing Date: Friday 29th August 2022

Responsibilities:

Create new Parts in Epicor when notified to do so via an Engineering Change Note (ECN). Ensure that all required part set-up information, such as Part Class, Group, Warehouse and Bins, is entered.

Create Methods of Manufacture (MoMs) using information provided from Production Engineering on standard templates and the bill of material (BoM) provided by R&D via ECN. A MoM is a combination of the BoM and the Operations required to manufacture and test the product or assembly.

Update Part records and MoMs to reflect changes in design or the manufacturing process. Maintain Part revisions.

Check job suggestions created by the ERP system for shortages. Liaise with the Purchasing department to determine when shortages will be cleared or if any other action is required. Once a job is clear of shortages, process it and release it to the factory. Determine and maintain the due date for jobs so that the Sales department is provided with accurate, up to date information to relay to customers.

Liaise with Production Managers to review any impact on job due dates and update accordingly.

Respond to queries from the Sales department regarding the potential availability of products for which we normally hold no stock (make to order).
