Team Leader
To lead a team or teams within Production, being responsible for the management of the personnel and their individual and combined performances, measured in terms of H&S, Quality and Delivery.

Responsibilities:
Health and Safety
- Comply with Company H&S procedures and legislation at all times.
- Identify any hazards, make safe and report as per Company H&S procedures.
- Ensure correct use and storage of PPE and RPE.
- Ensure staff have received appropriate H&S training and records are maintained and updated accordingly.
Quality
- Ensure that the team adheres to the processes and procedures they have been trained in.
- Assist with customer issue investigations.
- Support the identification and recommendation of potential process improvements and work with the Production Engineering team to implement.
- Ensure rejected material is processed through MRB.
Cost
- Monitor and coach the team to ensure they are achieving the standard times set for the production processes in question.
- Distribute work across the team so as to fully utilise the labour hours available.
- Investigate lineside stock discrepancies and take appropriate action to minimise future losses.
Delivery
- Work with Production Planning and the Production Manager to ensure production jobs are completed in line with plans.
Employee Satisfaction
- Provide the team with a regular briefing to keep them aware of events and news from within the company.
- Manage absence in the team; re-arrange work as required, cover as required and conduct back to work interviews.
- Manage performance issues in the team, working in conjunction with the Production Manager.
- Address conflicts in the team, escalating issues as necessary to the Production Manager.
- Carry out regular 1:1s with team members, identifying training needs and future aspirations to enable the creation of individual progression plans.
- Assist the Production Engineering team in training staff in the different production processes and in familiarisation with different products.
About You:
Experience
Essential
- Three or more years of experience working in product assembly manufacturing.
Desirable
- Experience in a people management role within electrical/electronic product manufacturing.
- Experience of IT systems, such as Epicor.
- Experience of team problem solving exercises.
Skills
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to read and understand product drawings.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
- Competent in using MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
