At Elcometer we put our employees first. It is important for us to make sure we provide the ideal work/life balance by offering a wide range of benefits to our employees. Take a look at what's on offer.
To help employees cope with demands such as childcare, other caring responsibilities and long commutes, the company is able to offer flexible working hours to support this.
Please note in roles where this is not possible, the company offers an earlier finish of 12:45pm on Fridays.
These are the hours that individuals would need to be in the office.
Monday – Thursday: - 9:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: - 9:30am – 3:00pm
Flexible Office Hours:-
These are hours when individuals can be in the office.
Monday – Thursday: - 7:30am – 6:30pm
Friday: - 7:30am – 5:00pm
A total of 36 hours needs to be worked each week.
25 Day Holidays
In addition to the statutory holidays, annual holiday entitlement for full time staff is 25 days unless otherwise agreed.
The holiday year runs from 1 April of one calendar year to 31 March of the next calendar year.
Early Finish on Fridays
The company recognises the importance of spending quality time outside of work to perhaps enjoy more of the evening with family and friends; or bond with your colleagues for after work drinks without having to trade off against other commitments.
Finish times depend on role but are between 12:00pm and 3pm.
Free Onsite Parking
The company provides free and secure onsite parking for all employees.
The Company is committed to sharing its success with employees in the form of discretionary bonuses when profitability levels allow. Employees become eligible for payment under the discretionary bonus scheme after successfully completing their Probationary Period, which is usually 6 months. Any bonus paid in the first 12 months of employment is on a pro-rated basis.
Holiday Buy Back
As part of our drive for greater flexibility we enable employees to purchase additional annual leave after completing 2 years of service.
The minimum and maximum amount of additional annual leave that you may “buy” in any one holiday year is 5 days or on a pro rata basis for anyone working less than 5 days.
Cycle 2 Work
Evans Cycles Ride-to-Work enables you to take advantage of the Government’s Cycle to Work Scheme and lease a bike and/or safety accessories of your choice from your employer. The scheme offers savings of 32% - 42% on the equipment (depending on your tax band), as well as many other benefits, plus you can ride the bike for leisure too. If you are already cycling, you can still take advantage of the tax savings and choose cycle clothing, e.g. a hi-vis jacket, gloves etc. and accessories such as lights and locks. You can also select addition bike components to upgrade your existing bike such as wheels and group sets etc.
The scheme is provided by Evans Cycles, who have the UK’s widest choice of bikes, clothing and accessories to suit all abilities and budgets. Evans Cycles have over 50 stores nationwide plus phone and online ordering is available with Click & Collect or home delivery. All stores offer a free test ride and knowledgeable advice on the right bike for you, plus Evans Cycles own Right Bike Guarantee.
The Company operates an occupational pension scheme (defined contribution) and will automatically enrol you into this scheme once you’ve been employed by the Company for 13 weeks/3 months, provided that you are aged between 22 and the state pension age and are a UK tax payer. (Even if you do not currently meet these eligibility criteria you can still join the pension scheme but you will have to request this via the HR department as you will not be automatically enrolled).
Once you have been automatically enrolled, you and the Company are both required to make contributions into this scheme at the minimum levels required by the current pension regulations.
If you remain a member of the pension scheme for a minimum continuous period of 12 months (from the date of your automatic enrolment) you will be given the opportunity to benefit from a considerably enhanced employer contribution through increasing your own contributions. Please note there are 2 entry points in the year (currently May and November) and you will be given the opportunity to benefit from these higher rate contributions at the first entry point after completing 12 months’ in the auto enrolment scheme.
You may choose to opt out of the pension scheme at any time after you have been automatically enrolled. Details on how to do this will be provided directly by the scheme provider upon your auto enrolment.
Further information on pensions, including the current contribution levels, is provided by the HR department during the new employee induction process.
Giving our employees a voice.
The aim of the Employee Forum is to provide a two-way communication process, involving and engaging employees through consultation, enabling you to contribute to the success of the business.
We have representatives across each department, to act as the voice of fellow employees, have your say and play a part in influencing business decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Gathering views and suggestions
- Raising and representing employee views and suggestions at Employee Forum meetings
- Consulting with management
- Communicating outcomes from meetings and business information to employees
Learning & Development
We invest in our people.
Wherever possible, the Company will support an employee who wishes to undertake training or study towards a qualification relevant to their role. Dependent upon business needs, this support may take the form of funding a training course, a contribution towards tuition and/or exam fees, books or time off for study as appropriate.
We are also able to provide training opportunities through the Apprenticeship levy scheme.
Charity & Social Events
The company supports local and national charities.
We have a number of events each year to support these causes, including dress down and themed dress down events, cake sales etc. We have an annual party each year at Christmas to provide an opportunity for the whole company to get together.
