Why measure Viscosity?
Viscosity is a measure of the resistance of a liquid to flow as a result of the frictional interaction in the liquid.
A liquid is considered to be “thicker” if its viscosity is higher than that of another liquid. Conversely, a liquid is “thinner” if its viscosity is lower than that of another liquid. A liquid of lower viscosity, therefore, flows more easily than another liquid of a higher viscosity. Honey, for example, is thicker than water.

Why Measure the Viscosity of Paint?
In the case of raw materials used in the production of a batch of paint, it is to ensure that the viscosity is in line with the user’s specification
Instruments for Measuring Viscosity
One way of measuring viscosity of paint is through the use of Dip cups and Flow cups.
