At Elcometer, we recognise that our role as designers, manufacturers, and suppliers to the protective coatings, industrial finishing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) industries encompasses more than just delivering high-quality products; it also includes a dedication to environmental responsibility, social equality, and ethical business practices.
Our ESG initiatives aim to minimise our environmental footprint, promote equitable development, and maintain the highest ethical standards in what we do. By incorporating these principles into all aspects of our operations, we strive to provide long-term value for our customers, employees, and communities while also contributing to a more sustainable and adequate future within our industries.
Enviroment
• Since 2017 we have continued to maintain a zero general waste to landfill target.
• 70% of waste is converted into refuse derived fuel.
• 30% of waste is recycled.
• Continuously reduce our energy usage per unit sold.
• Waste disposal segregation and monitoring e.g., cardboard, paper, oil, solvents, batteries, PCB’s, solder, metal, chemicals, coolant and swarf.
• Electricity supplied from Zero carbon/carbon neutral energy sources.
• Reduced the ‘on’ times of all outdoor lights on site and fitted a timer switch to the lights in the goods out bay.
• Changed heating time settings in management offices to heat only when in use.
• Reduced the number of lights left on overnight and the environmental chamber to automatically switch off when testing is complete.
• Changed fluorescent fittings for LED types across the factory.
• Plastic packaging has been substituted for cardboard on all new products.
• Our Plastic packaging suppliers manufacture with 30% recycled content.
