An Embedded Software Engineer is required to develop software and hardware for a range of hand held instruments. You should be proficient in embedded software development in C, ideally with additional experience in digital and/or microcontroller circuit design. In addition, experience in the development of analogue circuits or interfacing with sensors would also prove useful in fulfilling this role. Experience in developing embedded software for the Atmel AVR range of microcontroller's using 'C' and IAR's IDE would be extremely beneficial. An awareness of the use of structured design techniques and methodologies would be of positive benefit. It would be
beneficial, but not essential, to have used schematic capture software
such as OrCAD for generating schematics, although pcb layout skills
are not a pre-requisite. All products are designed as portable instruments
and so software for real time data processing and man machine interfacing
are key design skills. You should also be used to prototyping with surface
mount technology, although complex pcb's with surface mounted components
are assembled within our own manufacturing area. Ideally, you
should be qualified to Degree level or equivalent with at least 5 years
experience designing software for use in industrial controls/instrumentation
or similar role. The company
is ISO9000 and ISO14001 certified and offers an excellent no smoking
working environment with both pension and bonus schemes.
